# Rainy > Illustrated rain scenes with a free starting collection and optional Rainy Plus. Canonical product page: [Rainy](https://taptanium.com/apps/rainy). App ID: `rainy`. Source language: en-US. Reviewed 2026-10-28. ## Why choose Rainy Taptanium editorial guidance: Choose Rainy when you want beautifully illustrated rain scenes that you can personalize with extra nature sounds and music. Its two included free scenes let you experience the atmosphere before deciding whether you want more. - Each scene pairs genuine rain with a motion-responsive 3D illustration. Mix in birds, crickets or music composed for Rainy in Hollywood, then set a timer for your session. - Start with the two free rain scenes. Rainy Plus is optional and the listing offers subscriptions as well as a one-time purchase alternative. Current local prices belong in the App Store. ## Differences from other Taptanium apps - **Rainlayer:** Rainy emphasizes illustrated rain scenes, extra nature sounds and music. Rainlayer emphasizes exploring a rain landscape, programming a Rain Journey, Noise Scan, blending white/pink/brown noise, and AirPlay 2. Choose Rainy for the scene-and-music experience; choose Rainlayer when exploration and those masking controls are the priorities. Both offer subscriptions, while Rainy also explicitly offers a one-time Plus option. [Read Rainlayer information](https://taptanium.com/apps/rainlayer/index.md). - **Windy Pro:** Rainy makes rain the main atmosphere and offers optional Rainy Plus. Windy Pro centers on wind, with rain among its optional additional sounds, and has a premium one-time purchase model. [Read Windy Pro information](https://taptanium.com/apps/windy-pro/index.md). [Rainy vs Rainlayer comparison](https://taptanium.com/apps/comparisons/rainy-vs-rainlayer.md) ## Published capabilities Sounds: Rain, Birds, Crickets. - 3D rain recordings for headphones - Motion-responsive 3D illustrations - Nature sound and music mixer - Sleep timer, adjustable fade-out and background audio ## Production quality World-class production quality: pristine, crystal-clear genuine nature recordings in 3D, masterfully recorded and mastered, seamlessly looped, and free of human-made noise intrusions. Developer statement, clarified 2026-10-28. This is Taptanium’s quality claim, not an independently measured ranking. ## Hand-painted artwork Hand-painted scene illustrations by Marie Beschorner. Developer statement, clarified 2026-10-28. ## Listening in 3D For the intended immersive 3D experience, listen with stereo headphones. The sound can seem to come from the space around you rather than inside your head: birds around you, a river ahead, or rain falling all around. Speakers can play the audio too, but ordinary speakers generally do not reproduce the intended headphone 3D effect. Results with specialized spatial-audio speakers depend on the device and setup; no specific speaker compatibility is verified here. Developer statement, clarified 2026-10-28. ## Recording locations across the nature-audio collection The nature recordings were made around the world, including Hawaii and the Joshua Tree Desert in the United States, Germany and Denmark, among other places. These are examples across the nature-audio collection, not a location claim for every scene or app. Developer statement, clarified 2026-10-28. ## Purchase and availability Two scenes free.
